The invention relates to a device for orienting and optionally sorting longitudinal particles (P) of different sizes comprising a trough-shaped vibrating conveyor (1), whereby the base (12) of the trough-rim has a trough section (13) oriented in direction of conveyance(X). A dividing cleft is provided between the downstream end (15) of the vibrating conveyor (1) and a subsequent, second conveyor (2) in order to sort the longitudinal particles (P). Said oriented longitudinal particles can be arranged in a predictable manner using said device.
