The radiator of a conventional engine is replaced by an air cooled condenser (7) for refrigerant. A pump (6) draws refrigerant from the condenser and delivers it to an injection pump (5). The injection pump forces the liquid into the cooling passages of the engine (1). It flows through these and evaporates while cooling the engine. The resulting vapour flows (9) into a vapour engine (4). The exhaust (10) of the vapour engine returns to the condenser (7). The vapour engine (7) is coupled to the internal combustion engine by a belt drive (3) which replaces the radiator cooling fan drive. The entire adaptation is easily made to any existing engine.
