The two frames which make up the bed are connected together by an axis of articulation (10) which is also fitted with a single-axle chassis (14) which allows the bed to be moved about, e.g. drawn over the sand but which can then be locked relative to the frame (2). There is a support stand (28) which can be linked to the chassis which allows the bed to stand upright in the collapsed position. The system enables the bed frame to be used as a holdall when in the collapsed position. A triangular flap is attached along the sides of the frame to cover the gap at the sides.
