Solar power plant with heating cavity - has adjustable edge of irradiation aperture to match reflected radiation

The heating cavity is irradiated by a beamed reflection solar radiation from a mirror array focussed onto its irradiation aperture (29). The edge (38) of the latter is adjustable, in order to adjust the cross section of the irradiation aperture to match the reflected beam (28). Pref. the edge has several surface members which are rigid but relatively movable to each other. The surface members may be displaceable in pairs in a common rail system. The members may bound an annular cross section of the irradiation aperture, and may carry tubes for cooling medium which is utilised as a working medium for utilisation of the solar energy. In this manner the attainable output of the mirror array assisted solar power plant is brought to an optimum without any additional cost.
