<p>A zig-zag sewing machine has an adjustable mechanism for controlling the width and the null posn. of the zig-zag motion which can be operated independently by manual setting levers on the outside of the machine housing. The levers are affixed to a pair of coaxial control shafts of which the inner controls the amplitude of the zig-zag motion, and the outer, hollow shaft effects a displacement of the whole mechanism to alter the posn. of the stitch. Mechanism is less complicated than previous designs, is much easier to adjust, and the controls can be situated in a convenient and comfortable posn. on the front of the machine for easy operator access.</p> |
