The rotary coupling has a metal socket (15) between the shaft (11) and the plastic rotating part (13). The metal socket has a knurled outside surface that bites into the inside surface of the plastic hub (18) of the rotating part when the socket is pushed into the hub. The socket is pushed onto the shaft. The knurls on the outside of the socket are parallel to the socket's axis. The outer diameter of the socket is increased when the socket is pushed onto the shaft so that the knurls move radially outwards and bite into the plastic hub of the rotating part. The advantage lies in simple fabrication and reliability under changing loads.
