<p>The cutting chamber (9) is limited by a dividing wall (7) fixed to the shield. On the dividing wall side turned away from the cutting head is a feed cylinder with a feed piston (16) hydraulically driven and alternately executing a suction stroke and a pressure stroke, with its face-side openings pointing in the direction of the cutting chamber (9). On the cutting chamber side of the dividing wall (7) is a rotary tube switch (17) connected at its outlet end to a pressure tube aperture and motor-rotatable around the central axis in common with the cutting head (1). The rotary tube switch with its inlet end (18) engages over the face-side opening of the feed cylinder (14) during the pressure stroke of the feed piston (16) and during the suction stroke is free to the cutting chamber (9).
