PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium for setup for enabling anybody to extremely easily set up a printer without fail. SOLUTION: This recording medium for setup records a USB port driver file, INF file containing the designation information of a folder, where the USB port driver file is recorded, printer driver file and program for setup. On the assumption that the destination to connect the printer is a parallel port, after a printer driver is installed (step S102), the program for setup copies the INF file in a¥Windows¥INF folder and copies the USB port driver file in a folder designated by the designation information in the relevant INF file (step S103). When it is detected the printer is connected to a USB port, connection monitoring processing (step S104) is executed for switching the destination to connect the printer.
