The inter-vertebral disc prosthesis has opposing main faces (8,10) at least one of which has parallel profiled teeth (12). The toothed surfaces can have a non-rectilinear profile at least on one transverse plane. The toothed faces can have a profile with two rectilinear sections (14,16) which are mutually angled. The toothed face can have a zone forming on of the sections, which is smooth.
