REFLECTION LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reflection type liquid crystal display device having good optical characteristics by allowing a liquid crystal layer to have the thickness as designed and to be uniform in the plane. SOLUTION: A positioning means to stably position beads 210 between a substrate 203a and substrate 203b is formed with the recesses in the liquid crystal layer side of a reflection electrode, and the beads on the recesses come in contact with both of the substrates in the position where a color filter having largest thickness is formed, while beads in the region except recesses are in contact with one of the substrates or are floating in the liquid crystal layer.
