PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor core barrel capable of reducing the possibility of stress corrosion cracking of the type induced by irradiation by eliminating weld lines from a trunk part area exposed to a large amount of radiation from a fuel assembly and reducing thermal embrittlement and irradiation embrittlement by reducing the separation of delta ferrite from weld parts. SOLUTION: In this core barrel 1 of a bottomed cylindrical shape supporting the fuel assembly 20 therewithin, a trunk part 3 of the core barrel 1 disposed opposite to the fuel assembly 20 is made up of an integrally formed cylindrical forging.
