PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mail interlocked conversation system that is along with the intention and the will of a mail sender and to provide a phone interlocked mail system by which a phone caller can automatically transmit a character message in place of a conventional automatic telephone answering recording message as an electronic mail when the called party is absent. SOLUTION: The system are provided with a mail generating means that generates an electronic mail, with a conversation mark provision means that provides a 'conversation mark that is used by a recipient of an electronic mail to instruct a computer to make a phone call to a sender of the electronic mail' to the electronic mail (e.g. the conversation mark is inserted into the message of the electronic mail or attached to the message) by the selection of a man who generates the mail, and with a mail transmission means that transmits the electronic mail provided with the conversation mark above to its destination.
