PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for efficiently removing a component for disturbing an instrumentation in a method for measuring chlorobenzene or the like or a chlorophenol or the like in burnt exhaust gas as a substitute index of dioxins or the like. SOLUTION: An exhaust gas sucked from a flue of a furnace outlet is guided to an HCl adsorbent 53 through a dust removing filter 52, and a concentration of a chlorobenzine or the like or a chlorophenol or the like contained in the gas is measured. As the adsorbent, at least one type of metal oxide selected from a metal group consisting of a scandium, an yttrium, a titanium, a zirconium, a hafnium, a vanadium, a niobium, a tantalum, a chromium, a molybdenum, a tungsten, an aluminum, a gallium, an indium, a silicon, a germanium, a tin or metal group contained in a lanthanoid series is used.
