PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting furnace for radioactive wastes capable of heating solidified metals efficiently and having high disposal capacity. SOLUTION: In this melting furnace for radioactive wastes, a heating sleeve 3 is provided and induction-heated by a heating coil 4, and radioactive wastes 11 are introduced from an upper opening part 6 of the sleeve 3, melted in the sleeve 3, and discharged from a lower opening part 7 of the sleeve 3. The thickness of the sleeve 3 is made larger on the upper side than on the lower side.
