PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the performance of a planar emitter by reducing the quantity of an incident light from the outside of a light conducting plate to a steep slope portion formed on the surface of the light conducting plate. SOLUTION: The surface of a light conducting plate 12 is provided with wedged operating grooves 12D each having a plane striped easy slope portion 12a and a steep slope portion 12b and flat portions 12e adjacent to the operating grooves 12D in a repetitively manner, as shown crosswise in Fig. The back 12c of the light conducting plate 12 is flat. The surface of the steep slope portion 12b contains a shading layer 14 for shading a visible light.
