PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable torque sensor unit for an electric power steering device allowing the improvement of assembling workability. SOLUTION: This torque sensor unit has a housing space 21 for housing an electrical or electronic component; a housing 1 formed with a second opening 25 making the housing space 21 communicate with the outside; a connector 30 blocking off the second opening 25; and an elastic shim 40 closely sealing between the second opening 25 and the connector 30. Accordingly, only sandwiching the elastic shim 40 of a predetermined shape between the housing 1 and the connector 30 can fill a gap between the periphery of the second opening 25 and the connector 30 to improve workability and effectively prevent the penetration of water. Even if the connector 30 has a shape allowing the projection of a metal bush 35 from a flange part 31B, the elastic shim 40 can closely seal between the flange part 31B and the housing 1 to prevent the penetration of water into between them.
