RENDERING METHOD OF VOLUME DATA SET IN VOLUME RENDERING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rendering method of a volume data set for minimizing the number of voxels and samples, which require a processing, and improving the performance. SOLUTION: In the volume rendering system, a volume data set is rendered as one picture. Plural voxels preserved in a memory are included in the volume data set. Plural parallel processing pipelines are included in the volume rendering system. Plural pixels preserved in a picture buffer are included in the picture. In is judged whether a specified voxel of the volume data set contributes to the picture or not. Only when the specified voxel contributes to a specified pixel of the picture, the voxel is read into one of plural pipelines.
