PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a low-cost film with an arbitrary shape containing a metal as the main component on a substrate at a relatively low temperature. SOLUTION: The production method for display unit comprises with formation of a metallic film by forming a primary film by painting a composite containing a metallic fatty acid salt or alkoxide as the raw material of the metallic film that composes an electrode film, optical reflection film or electromagnetic shield film at a desired region of the substrate on which composing elements have been formed arbitrarily, baking the primary film in an oxidizing atmosphere, followed by baking it in a reducing atmosphere.
