PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water stopping structure of a waterproof dike excavation allowing a blockade of the excavation to protect an agricultural ground, a house or a city area when flooding, and allowing detachment of a water stopping to cause no traffic obstruction at normal times. SOLUTION: In this water stopping structure of a waterproof excavation, both side wall faces of the excavation of a waterproof dike are oppositely formed with guide grooves open upward. A detachable water stopping door plate detached form the waterproof dike and stored in another place when the door plate is not used is slidingly fitted in the guide grooves from above such that both side edges thereof face the inside of the guide grooves, and the door plate is fixed to the waterproof dike by door fixing means provided with side wall face of the excavation adjacent to the guide grooves such that a packing fixed to one of a portion of the door plate facing a doorstop and a portion of the doorstop facing the door plate is water-tightly compressed between the door plate and doorstop.
