PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for an endscope which can execute illumination light quantity control with good accuracy even when a diaphragm member is controlled to a closing direction from an opening direction or to the opening direction from the closing direction. SOLUTION: This light source device is provided with a biasing means 9 for biasing the diaphragm member 10 at all times in either of the closing direction or the opening direction.
