PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator to suppress a consumption power to a low value. SOLUTION: A refrigerator comprises a storage chamber; a cooler to cool air in the storage chamber; a heater situated below the cooler; a machine room provided at the inner side of a box body with a gutter part situated below the heater and situated at the inside of a compressor situated below the gutter part; and a passage cause the machine room to communicate with the gutter part. In the so formed refrigerator, a part is provided to be disposed on the passage and have a section area narrower than that of other part of the passage.
