PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plane rare-gas fluorescent lamp that can enhance the brightness at the central portion. SOLUTION: This fluorescent lamp is characterized in that a plurality of nearly flat wall-face components 4 having a translucent first member 1 and ditch-shaped space 3 are formed in parallel and into a single body through connecting portions 5, and the lamp is equipped with a second member 2 formed with an emission layer 8 on the inner face of the wall-face components 4, rare gas enclosed within an inner space formed by mutually airtightly sealing respective peripheries of the first and second members 1 and 2, and external electrodes 9 and 10 formed mutually apart in the direction that the ditch-shaped spaces 3 extend on each of the wall-face components 4 of the second member 2.
