PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic still camera provided with a printer, which alarms a user or inhibits printing processing when a user inputs a number in excess of the number of remaining sheets in a film pack. SOLUTION: A loading cover 14 is provided to a front face middle part of a camera body 2 in a free opening/closing way, and a film pack 23 is loaded to a loading chamber 16 by opening/closing this loading cover 14. The camera 1 with printer recognizes a remaining number of instant films in the film pack 23 on the basis of a signal from a film detection switch 17 and a discharge film counter mechanism (not shown). When the film pack 23 is loaded in the loading chamber 16 and the film pack detection switch 17 is closed, first whether or not the remaining instant films member is 10 is recognized. Then the discharge film counter mechanism is active every time one instant film is discharged through print processing and its is recognized that the remaining instant film number is decreased by one each.
