PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information reader which allows the illuminating lights that light irradiating elements of a light irradiator irradiate to be adjusted for a little brightness difference and lessens the interpret performance reduction due to the voltage drop of a power source. SOLUTION: The reader comprises a light irradiator 1 having at least two light irradiating elements 4, 5 connected in parallel to a power source for emitting illuminating lights on a marker having parts different in light reflectivity, a lens for making an image of the marker 13, an image sensor for converting the image of the marker 13 formed by an image former, a constant current feeding means 3 for making constant the total of currents flowing in the two light irradiating elements 4, 5, and a current control means 2 capable of controlling the current flowing in one of the two light irradiating elements 4, 5. |
