PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery made of a Mg-based alloy superior in erosion resistance and welding property. SOLUTION: This invention is characterized in that a tightly sealed battery exterior can that houses electrode groups is composed of a Mg-based alloy containing Al 14-11%, Mn 0.05-0.6% and Zn 0.1-1%, and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery composed of a Mg-based alloy containing Si below 0.50%, Cu below 0.40%, Ni 0.03% and Fe below 0.01%. |
