PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert a conversion object character into a special character for an article prepared optionally by an article implementor about a special character conversion device which automatically performs an article input and proofreading in a newspaper preparation and a storage medium in which a special character conversion program is stored. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an editing means 1 which supports the preparation and edition of an article which area executed on an editing screen, an extracting means 22 which extracts a conversion object lexical unit from the designated range of an article that is subjected to a conversion range designation operation on the editing screen, and a converting means 23 which displays a special character conversion candidate about the extracted conversion object lexical unit on the editing screen in a selectable and operable way and replaces the extracted conversion object lexical unit with the selected and operated special character conversion candidate. |
