PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate a quaternary dispersion by which a waveform distortion occurs when a light pulse is transmitted by fiber. SOLUTION: A light fiber distribution compensating method is the one for compensating the quaternary dispersion when the light pulse is transmitted by fiber. The light pulse is extended on a time axis, an extension light pulse is generated, where a pulse width is extended and, at the same time, a spectral component is dispersed, the phase modulation of a cosine function with the center of a light pulse waveform as an original point is added to the extension light pulse, the extension light pulse to which phase modulation is added is compressed on the time axis and a secondary dispersion in the phase modulation of the cosine function is cancelled in a whole fiber transmission line. |
