PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify a plastic material at high identifying ratio. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the method for identifying the plastic material by optical measurement, preferably by measuring the sample by optical measurement, and contains a step for detecting a sample spectrum by measuring the spectrum of the sample; a step for detecting a reference spectrum of a reference substance; a step for determining the spectrum distance between the sample spectrum and the reference spectrum; and a step for identifying the substance by making a substance having a reference spectrum of the minimum spectrum distance to the sample spectrum correspond to the sample. The plastic material is identified within at least one identifying frequency range having a high absolute displacement ratio D and/or a high smoothing displacement ratio D' between the whole pairs of targeted substances, and the spectrum distance is determined within at least one identifying frequency range. |
