PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shock absorber capable of securing a stroke length required for a piston while shortening the length of a cylinder and securing the required engagement length of a piston rod even when it is maximumly elongated. SOLUTION: In this hydraulic shock absorber in which a piston rod 4 is movably inserted in a cylinder 1 through a piston 2 and a bearing 3 at the end part of the cylinder, the piston rod 4 is always energized toward is elongating direction through a suspension spring 5, and an outer shell 6 is provided concentrically with the cylinder 1, a tubular outer cylinder 7 having a bottom is movably placed outside the outer shell 6, a collar 9 sliding along the outer periphery of the outer shell 6 is provided inside the base end of this outer cylinder 7, and the piston rod 4 is movably passed through the center of the tip part of the outer cylinder 7 through a guide 11. |
