PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device that can correctly retrieve an index without losing the cross-reference between a tape medium and a semiconductor memory and to provide an image pickup method, an image pickup system, and a computer-readable recording. SOLUTION: An operation key group 115 designates prescribed index information (image or the like) among sets of index information consisting of a prescribed one-frame image in a moving picture cut and of recording start position information or the like for the moving picture cut and that are recorded in a removable flash memory (semiconductor memory) 108a to correctly retrieve (index retrieval) a desired moving picture cut to be recorded on a removable DV tape (tape medium) 108b and to output the retrieved moving picture cut to an NTSC video output terminal 110 and a liquid crystal display device 112.
