PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract a specific area such as an address area fast with precision while evading a complicated integrating process in all pixels. SOLUTION: The image processor is equipped with a binarization part 12 which binarizes an image inputted by an image input device 10, a connecting pixel group detection part 14 which detects a connecting pixel group of the binarized pixels, a comparison part 16 which compares the size of the connecting pixel group with a predetermined threshold, a mesh image formation part 18 which forms mesh images by sectioning the mentioned input image into parts of a specific size, a corresponding mesh image detection part 19 which detects the corresponding mesh image to which a connecting pixel group judged by the comparison part 16 to be below the threshold value among the mesh images corresponds, a specific area extraction part 22 which extracts a specific area from the connection state of the detected corresponding mesh image, and an image recognition device 23 which recognizes the image positioned in the extracted specific area.
