PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce wait time of users in a distribution system that a central management unit distributes digital contents to terminals installed in shops and the user acquires the contents by using the terminal. SOLUTION: A user request processing section 15 of the central management unit 2 issues a reservation number to designated contents in response to a request from a user terminal 1 and transmits it to the user terminal 1 and a terminal 3. When a contents acquisition section 29 of the terminal 3 has no reserved contents in its contents storage section 28, the contents acquisition section 29 makes a request to the central management unit 2 to download the contents. A medium write processing section 30 downloads the reserved contents from the contents storage section 28 to a medium 4 via a medium writer 23 in response to the entry of the reservation number by the user.
