<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power to be consumed while maintaining operating performance and inhibit the amount of power to be consumed by an input device by changing the cycle of an operation clock and the length of its preset time corresponding to the rotating number of a rotor in a preset time. SOLUTION: An input device for inputting information after detecting the rotating number of a dial for a jog switch 10 comprises an edge counter 32 for counting the rotating number of the dial on the basis of the number of the edges of a phase signal in synchronization with a clock signal 39 for every time slot counted by a slot counter 30 and a comparator 33 for judging whether the number of the detected edges per time slot unit is zero or not for preset consecutive times and for changing the cycle of the clock signal 39 from a high speed to a low speed by using a selector 38, if it is zero for preset consecutive times.</p> |
