PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range finder using a light projection type triangulation system capable of reducing the power consumption. SOLUTION: The range finder of a light projection type trigonometrical range-finding system for the focusing of a camera having a zoom photographic lens 11a is equipped with a photodetecting means 19 which photodetects projection light reflected by a subject, a 1st light projecting means 17 which is arranged at a specific distance from the photodetecting means 19, a 2nd light projection means 18 which is arranged at a longer distance from the photodetecting means 19 than the 1st light projecting means 17, and a control means 23 which controls the light projection of the 1st and 2nd light projecting means according to the position of the zoom photographic lens 11a. |
