PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the design of a device for data processing to cooperate with a memory, and to generate an optimal control signal for a desired memory on the basis of an internal address. SOLUTION: Processing of data to cooperate with a memory such as MPEG decoding, for example, has following features. A processor generates a logical request. This logical request defines at least one feature common for data groups. An address processing circuit generates a physical request based on the logical request. This physical request defines the address of folding concerning the data group. On the basis of the physical request, a memory interface transfers the data group between the memory and the processor. Thus, it is not necessary to know how and where data are to be processed or data are processed and these data are preserved in the memory. This promotes the design of the data processor, especially, devices related to this data processor. |
