PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device making a toner image surely fixed, and facilitating miniaturization by hardly requiring the warm-up time or standby heating. SOLUTION: In this fixing device being disposed in freely rotationally, making the toner image fixed by letting recording material P that the unfixed toner image formed thereon to pass through, between a heating roller 2 that a heater lamp 4 in a tube shape is arranged inside thereof, and a pressure roller 3 that is rotated in close contact with the heating roller, the device is made to form the heating roller by a translucent member transmitting neat infrared rays and absorbing far infrared-rays, and to form the wave length converting film 6 making the light of the heater lamp converted into the far infrared radiation, on the periphery, among the periphery that is not facing to the pressure roller.
