PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the occurrence of electrical corrosion by the ionic material is included in dirt in the potions of respective transparent electrode wiring 2a for common and respective transparent electrode terminals 7 for common in the spacings between both transparent substrates 1 and 2 of a liquid crystal display device constituted by superposing the segment transparent substrate 1 and the common transparent substrate 2 so as to encapsulate liquid crystal 4 therebetween. SOLUTION: The common transparent substrate 2 is integrally provided with overhanging pats 5 from the segment transparent substrate 1 and the respective transparent electrode terminals 7 for common are so formed in these overhanging parts 5 as to be integrally connected to each of respective pieces of the transparent electrode wiring 2a for common and the portions of the transparent electrode terminals 7 for common and the transparent electrode wiring 2a for common between both transparent substrates 1 and 2 are coated with insulating films 9.
