PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner from being leaked from both sides of a blade in a cleaning device using a cleaning blade. SOLUTION: A cleaning blade 31 is provided in parallel with a photoreceptor 10 being a member to be cleaned and a tip 31a is pressed to the surface of the photoreceptor. Side seals 40 are provided on both sides of the blade 31. The side seals are provided with slits s is a direction orthogonal with the rotating direction d of the photoreceptor 10, and are provided by pressing a front side to the photoreceptor and sticking a rear side to a structure 44. With the rotation of the photoreceptor, each of the parts 40a, which are divided by the slits, of the side seals is deformed remarkably by friction force respectively and are fitted to the tip 31a of the blade 31 to prevent toner from being leaked from both sides of the blade.
