PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical optical transmission medium which is free of transmission loss to near IR light, has a good bending characteristic, retains the characteristic of chemical resistance and has the ease of handling sufficiently dealable with deep part examination in a medical region. SOLUTION: The medical plastic optical fiber used as an optical transfer means in an examination system for a medical optical sensor and constituted of a non-crystalline fluorine-contained polymer not substantially having C-H bonds and the medical apparatus using the same.
