PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for assaying a target nucleic acid by a peroxidase-labeled nucleic acid probe through the use of a chemiluminescence system capable of highly sensitively measuring peroxidase activity in the presence of a hydrogen receptor. SOLUTION: In this method, a target nucleic acid is highly sensitively assayed by a peroxidase-labeled nucleic acid probe in the presence of a hydrogen receptor through the use of a chemiluminescence reagent having a charge-moved complex of N,N'-di-substitute-9,9'-bisacridinium salts and an N,N-di-substitute carboxylic acid amide compound as main components or a chemiluminescence reagent having a charge-moved complex of N,N'-di-substitute-9,9'-bisacridinium salts, an N,N-di-substitute carboxylic acid amide compound, and a specific aminoalcohol compound as main components.
