PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily, accurately detect an internal fault of a coating or anticorrosive film formed on a surface of a metal material and a fault existing between the film and the surface of the material in a short time. SOLUTION: The method for inspecting a film comprises the steps of applying a voltage between a metal material 2 and a film 3 formed on a surface of the film 3, and detecting a fault existing in the film 2 and between the film 3 and the surface of the material 2.
