PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a techinique capable of dealing with the machining of an optical fiber having a long projection length from a fiber holder by solving a conventional problem, namely, a limit in increasing distance of the fiber holder away from an optical fiber machining position without increasing the scale of a holder set base, in a machining equipment for the cutting, grinding, etc., of the optical fiber projected from the fiber holder which is positioned on the holder set base while holding the optical fiber. SOLUTION: The auxiliary base 20 for a fiber holder is constituted such that the holder set base 2 is essentially extended in the direction away from an optical fiber machining position 10 by attaching the auxiliary base to the optical fiber machining equipment 1 and that the auxiliary base is also provided with a positioning rail 24 for positioning the fiber holder 3. |
