摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the luminous efficiency that is low caused by a large capacitance of dielectric layer of the plasma display panel. SOLUTION: Material with a low dielectric constant, phosphor oxide or zinc oxide for instance, is used as the dielectric layer and separation between scanning and maintenance electrodes is expanded. Furthermore, rise of discharge maintaining voltage is suppressed by letting the discharge between the scanning and maintaining electrodes initiate, triggered by discharge developed between the scanning or maintaining electrode and data electrode.
