PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator capable of efficiently extracting prescribed individual data from a packet, in which the specified individual data is stored by a prescribed unit. SOLUTION: This separator is provided with a packet-separating means to separate first to third packets and extraction equipment to extract additional information from the third packet. This extraction equipment is provided with a first comparing means 70 to compare control data D65 in a header area of the third packet with a first piece of comparison data C66, based on mask data M66 and a second comparing means 80 to compare the control data D65 with a second piece of comparison data B66, based on the first piece of comparison data C66 and the mask data M66. The extraction equipment extracts additional information from the third packet, when the comparison result of the first comparing means 70 shows agreement and the comparison result of the second comparing means 80 shows disagreement.
