PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image forming device in which an operation for adding an optional unit can be easily performed and an operation for taking discharged paper out can be easily performed in comparison with a conventional image forming device in which a space for taking the paper on a paper receiving tray 14 out becomes smaller because of fact that the space between the paper receiving tray 14 and an optical unit 11 is limited, so that the operation for taking the paper out is hardly performed when the optional unit is attached in the image forming device in which the optical unit 11 is placed on an image forming device main body 12 and also which has the paper receiving tray 14 on which the paper carrying a formed image is placed between the optical unit 11 and the image forming device main body 12. SOLUTION: An optical unit 11 can be separated from an image forming device main body 12, and a positioning member 15 deciding the attaching positions of the unit 11, another unit 17 to be attached and the main body 12 in a horizontal direction is provided so that the unit 17 can be attached between the unit 11 and the main body 12.
