PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an article arrival reporting system and an article condition reporting system having following features capable of automating the system without requiring excessive labor for both a transmitter and a recipient, making contents to be reported correspondent to the conditions and states of respective articles, easily changing the destination to send or time of delivery and permitting more highly graded services by linking with a physical distribution system. SOLUTION: This system has a function for reporting the arrival of an article to an electronic mail address corresponding to an identifier recorded on the article when an article arrives or recipient is absent when delivering the article. Otherwise, the system has a function for reporting the condition of the article to an electronic mail address described in an instruction or electronic mail address related to the identifier recorded on the article when an instruction for confirming the condition of the article is issued.
