<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface plasmon resonance sensor that is compact, has improved sensitivity, at the same time, can be easily and optically connected to other optical elements, can be manufactured easily, and can improve sensitivity drastically. SOLUTION: The surface plasmon resonance sensor is provided with an optical waveguide that is formed by successively laminating a clad layer and a core layer on a substrate, and a sensor part that is formed by providing a metal thin film on the surface of the core layer of the optical waveguide. In the surface plasmon resonance sensor, the core layer and the clad layer of the optical waveguide have been formed by resin, a plurality of sensing parts of the sensor are arranged on one optical plane, light passes through the plurality of sensing parts optically and continuously, and the length of the sensing parts have been increased essentially.</p> |
