PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing device capable of providing information on gasoline stations in the vicinity of a point at which refueling becomes necessary to a driver before starting. SOLUTION: This information providing device is provided with a vehicle's location detecting means 30 for detecting the location of one's own vehicle, a map storage means 50 to store a map database including information on refueling stations, a route searching means 60 to search for a route to a destination through the use of the map data of the map storage means 50, a remaining fuel quantity detecting means 80 to detect the remaining quantity of fuel of one's own vehicle, and a refueling point computing means 90 to compute a refueling point on the basis of the searched route and the remaining quantity of fuel. Information on refueling stations along the route in the vicinity of the refueling point is obtained from the map storage means and provided. At the point in time of searching for a route to a destination before starting, it is possible to provide a driver with information on gasoline stations along the route at which refueling should be performed. |
