PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guarantee the execution of a task on the whole system by selecting another printer which is ready and transferring data even if a printer having received a print command can not print immediately. SOLUTION: At least one print data supply source (2, 6), printers (10), and a network (3) which connects them together are provided and when a print command is sent from the print data supply source to a specific printer (10a) through the network, the specific printer decides (20) its current state; if the specific printer is unable to perform the printing processing, another optimum printer (10n) in the best state for the printing of the print data at this time is selected (12) by specific algorithm, the print data addressed to itself are transferred (13) to the best state printer and the best state printer (10n) performs the printing processing immediately according to the print command.
