PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more simplify a mount configuration of a VSB digital re-modulator that can selectively extract a channel 3, a channel 4 or a base band. SOLUTION: A digital method and device (complex modulator) modulates a carrier (804) expressed digitally with a digitally sampled stream (202) from a signal source to supply a television signal with a 6 MHz band width whose center is selected from e.g. 63 MHz (channel 3), 69 MHz (channel 3) or 5.38 MHz IF (base band). This method especially includes first re-sampling (800) of the digitally sampled stream and then modulation (802) of a re-sampled sample in a short sequence where a complex value denoting a digital exponent carrier is repeated.
